I just added a very helpful (and yummy) bonus for those who register for the Weight Loss Mastery Masterclass this week and enroll in my program. (It’ll be available to download with the release of the Hormone Mastery Module.)
Here’s a sneak peak for everyone now though, so that you all can taste a bit of this amazingness and come more into hormonal balance at the same time!
The reason why this is important – especially for women (sorry guys!) – is because hormonally, we experience tremendous fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone over the various phases of our lives.
It starts with menses, and later with pregnancy and childbirth, as well as with any sort of trauma or surgery…and of course, during the menopause transition.
And we can’t forget the post-menopausal hormone slump when progesterone is typically on the low side of optimal – especially if stress is out of balance.
I have a few peri-menopausal clients in their 40s dealing with menstrual irregularities that are beyond tolerable. I won’t go into detail, but it’s like Shark Week 🦈 never ends…I’ll just leave it at that.
Often when this occurs, it’s a tell-tale sign of low progesterone – which is also associated with poor sleep, insulin resistance, weight gain, water retention, irritability, brain fog and even…increased cellulite!
Rather than just running to the doctor for a prescription or supplement, you may want to work with some nutrition approaches as well.
This is one of my favorite recipes providing the following hormone balancing, anti-inflammatory and progesterone boosting nutrients:
- Vitamin C – Lemon Juice, Garlic
- Zinc & Magnesium – Pumpkin Seeds < they also support balanced estrogen
- Vitamin E – Sunflower Seeds, Avocado & Broccoli < 🥦 also provides fiber and sulfur for excess estrogen detox
- Vitamin B6 & Good Cholesterol – Grass-fed Beef & Wild Salmon (Garlic is also a good source of B6 and very heart healthy!)
RECIPE: SUNPUMP AWESOME SAUCE
Serves: Makes about 1-1/2 cups of sauce. Keeps for at least a week in the fridge.
Prep time: 10 minutes or less
Serve 1-2 T drizzled over roasted broccoli along with cooked or canned salmon or cooked ground beef or sliced steak. You could also use this as a salad dressing!
- 1/3 cup unsweetened sunflower seed butter (or ground sunflower seeds)
- 1/3 cup ground pumpkin seeds (or unsweetened pumpkin seed butter <which is much harder to find)
- 2 cloves crushed garlic or 1 tsp garlic powder
- Juice of 1 large lemon
- 2T Avocado oil (or olive oil)
- 1/2 cup warm water (more to thin if needed)
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Whisk or blend together all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Add small amounts of water to achieve desired consistency (I like it about as thick as a creamy salad dressing). Pour into a jar with a tight fitting lid and store in the refrigerator.
Let me know if you try this SunPump Awesome Sauce and tell me what you think! I’m soooo ADDICTED to it!
(PRO TIP: Following my personalized real food framework, I count a 2T serving of this awesome sauce as a fat when building my meals so that I don’t go overboard with fats. If I have this meal with salmon or beef – which I would also count as a serving of fat, the sauce would be my second fat for that meal. Which helps me lose and/or maintain my weight depending on where I’m at. When I go overboard with fats, I gain weight or don’t lose weight…See how this works? This is what I teach you in the program! 👌🏼)
