I signed up for Evelyn’s 12-week program because I had not been able to lose the last 20 pounds I needed to lose to reach my goal weight and A1C target. In fact, I had been gradually gaining weight despite eating very low carb. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong. I “thought” I knew everything there is to know about weight loss after eating this way for the last 8 years. Evelyn specialized in nutrition coaching for peri- and post-menopausal women, so I figured she would be sympathetic to how a drop in hormones makes it more difficult to lose.
Evelyn helped me be mindful of the reason WHY I was struggling and offered me simple strategies. This made the difference, because within a couple of weeks I started losing weight and sleeping better. More importantly, however, I noticed that I FELT better. I had less cravings for occasional sweet things, too.
I continued to lose weight, although very slowly (1 pound every 1-1/2 weeks). I would have given up and felt despondent if I didn’t have Evelyn’s support. She said that most people give up when weight doesn’t come off quickly, or they get extreme and don’t eat enough, which can backfire. I trusted the process, and remembered her words whenever I stalled and got frustrated.
By the end of the 12 weeks, my A1C had decreased from 6.1 to 5.6. I lost a total of 7 pounds. My blood pressure went down. My triglycerides went down, my HDL went up.
I gained valuable skills and habits that I will continue to use for the rest of my life, even after I reach my goal weight of 148. Thanks Ev!
